Peterborough-based law firm Buckles Law has strengthened its presence in London following the acquisition of Miller Rosenfalck, an international boutique law firm specialising in cross-border legal matters.
Miller Rosenfalck has particular expertise in the German and Scandinavian markets, while also advising on legal matters involving France, Italy and North America. The acquisition brings six lawyers into Buckles as partners, expanding the firm’s expertise across several key practice areas.
The incoming partners include Edzard Clifton-Dey, specialising in employment law; Kevin Harrison, John Kenneally and Chris Rodda, who focus on dispute resolution; Steen Rosenfalck, specialising in corporate and commercial law; and Isabel Sylvestre, who brings expertise in immigration law.
Founded in 2002 by Steen Rosenfalck, Miller Rosenfalck has developed an international practice supporting businesses operating across different jurisdictions. Rosenfalck is dual-qualified as a Danish advokat and an English solicitor and has advised Danish businesses on their UK interests for more than 20 years.
The firm’s international work is supported by a multilingual team, including lawyers with qualifications across different legal systems and experience working with clients from diverse business and cultural backgrounds.
The acquisition is expected to broaden Buckles Law’s commercial legal services, particularly in employment, dispute resolution and corporate and commercial matters. It also introduces immigration law as an additional service area within the firm’s offering.
According to Buckles Law chief executive Duncan Jackson, the two firms share an established focus on international legal work and a similar approach to developing their teams. He highlighted the acquisition as an opportunity to strengthen the firm’s London operations and expand the range of services available to international clients.
Steen Rosenfalck also highlighted the benefits of the move for existing clients, noting that joining Buckles would provide access to a wider range of legal expertise while maintaining the firm’s established understanding of international legal systems, business cultures and languages.
The acquisition represents a further development in Buckles Law’s international expansion and strengthens its ability to support businesses with legal requirements involving the UK and overseas markets.
